Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards, including the Oscar for her movie Piano. Her career began as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. It has always been her obsession. In the fifth grade she was cast as Helen Keller in an original show. She was born deaf in the one ear due to mumps but did not let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actress. When she was in college studying drama after which she relocated into New York City with her plans with her sights set. Hunter was trapped in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. Her first film role came after she relocated to Los Angeles. In the three decades since then, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
